Pepsen manufactures heat resistance urethane rubber wheels, sheets, bushings
and other parts as per customer requirements such as hardness, drawing and
working environment. In general, long term working temperature of normal polyurethane
is no higher than 80 degree C. Special formulations such as PPDI and NDI can reach
up to as high as 150 degree C, but the cost is about several times of normal
urethane. PEPSEN special formulated urethane can reach 160 degree C with very cost
effective cost.
What is heat
resistance urethane rubber?
Heat resistance
(dynamic performance properties) is rarely mentioned for urethane rubber because
it is the only disadvantage of urethane. Especially under the condition of high
speed and high load, the build-up heat will destroy urethane quickly, that is
why urethane is not used for car tire though abrasion resistance is much better
than natural rubber.
Special
formulations such as PPDI and NDI are usually used to avoid this disadvantage,
but cost is much expensive.
PEPSEN chemical
engineering staff has been doing research and testing on this field in past 15
years and we have developed urethane formulations that can working under 160
degree C, but the cost is much lower.
