Polyurethane
Front Strut Top Mount Bushings
Shanghai Pepsen manufactures standard and custom polyurethane
front strut top mount bushings as per
customer requirements including drawings or samples. Hardness
is normally Shore 85-90A, but can vary as well as color.
What is polyurethane
front strut top mount bushings?
Polyurethane
has been widely known for its excellent abrasion and impact resistance, it is
widely used in motor industry and the suspension bushings and mounts are one of
typical applications. The polyether based polyurethane is more resilient while
polyester one is more resistant to impact, abrasion, oil and high temperature.
The original
factory car bushings and mounts are manufactured from rubber which deteriorate
with age. They becomes softer and more fragile. Over a period of time, stress and
strain begin to weaken and crack the factory fit rubber mounts. This results in
poor handling and vague steering. Tracking and camber can also be affected.
Polyurethane
top mounts are the ideal replacement for rubber front strut mount bushings.
What are
advantages of polyurethane front strut top mount bushings?
Wear resistance
Impact and
shock absorption.
Oil and
chemical resistant.
Reduce noise
significantly.
Exceptionally
long service life.
How does polyurethane
front strut top mount bushing work?
Rubber top
mounts which deteriorate with age causing more and more movement of suspension parts
and offering less and less control over the suspension geometry. These cause
excessive car tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. This is the
single biggest reason you can immediately tell the difference between driving a
three year old car and a new one. By using application specific polyurethane
compounds, mount and bushings can be made 25-30% harder than rubber ones but
with exactly the same shock absorbing properties.
