Polyurethane wheels (solid, not foam) – also called PU wheels or urethane wheels – are made by casting polyurethane onto prepared wheel hubs such as steel, cast iron, aluminum, plastic or rubber. The hubs are shot-blasted and carefully cleaned to ensure a strong, reliable bond between the metal core and the PU tread.
Compared with rubber or metal wheels, polyurethane wheels offer higher load capacity, excellent abrasion and tear resistance, low rolling noise and better floor protection. They are widely used in material handling and logistics equipment, automobile production plant, automation and transportation systems, industrial machinery, parking system as well as mining and other heavy-duty applications.
