Packaging & Bottling

Bottling and packaging lines depend on stable speed, accurate material handling and controlled contact with bottles, cans, cartons, film and corrugated board. Cast polyurethane components can be specified by hardness, geometry and core design for drive, guide, pressure, cushioning and wear applications.

Pepsen manufactures custom polyurethane rollers, no-crush wheels, guide strips, buffer blocks, slitter spacer rings and capper inserts from drawings or samples. Selection should consider load, speed, temperature, cleaning chemicals, contact surface and any food-contact documentation required for the application.

Advantages of Polyurethane in Bottling & Packaging

Impact & Scratch Protection: Polyurethane contact surfaces can cushion glass, plastic, metal and corrugated materials while reducing marking. Surface finish, hardness and contact pressure should match the product and line conditions.

Wear Resistance & Line Stability: Suitable polyurethane grades provide abrasion and cut resistance for rollers, wheels and guides. Service life depends on load, speed, alignment, contamination and maintenance.

Chemical & Cleaning Resistance: Selected formulations can resist water, oils and some detergents. Compatibility must be verified for the exact cleaning agent, concentration, temperature and exposure time.

Food-Contact Material Options: Where a component may contact food or beverage packaging, request the formulation and documentation for the intended use. Suitability depends on composition, use conditions and cleaning procedures.

Vibration & Noise Damping: Resilient polyurethane can reduce impact and noise at guides, stops and roller contact points. Durometer and dimensions are selected to balance damping, traction and dimensional control.

Key Applications

Polyurethane conveyor rollers for bottle, carton, case and pallet handling. Specify roller diameter, face length, shaft or core, load, line speed, hardness and required surface finish.

PU buffer blocks and guide strips for sortation and packaging equipment, used to manage product contact and protect frames or stops. Provide mounting geometry, impact energy and the observed wear pattern.

Polyurethane pressure rollers for stretch-film and wrapping machines, where concentricity, surface finish, nip pressure and traction affect web handling and pallet wrapping.

No-crush wheels and rollers for corrugated board feeding, folding and converting. Slot pattern, hub, hardness and compression are selected to transport sheets without excessive marking or crush.

Polyurethane slitter spacer rings for film, paper and foil converting equipment. Specify outside diameter, inside diameter, width, hardness, runout and chemical or temperature exposure; slitting accuracy also depends on machine setup and tooling.

Urethane bottle capper inserts and friction discs for capping machines. Material, hardness, profile and surface are selected for cap grip, torque transfer and repeatable release without unnecessary marking.
