Application of Cast Polyurethane Products in the Material Handling Industry

Cast Polyurethane Products are the ideal choice for the material handling and transportation industry. It covers appllcation such as conveyor belt transportation, forklift loading/unloading, crane handling, intelligent automation and bulk material transfer. Polyurethane are used to reduce component wear, minimizing material loss, and extending equipment service life

Advantages in Material Handling Industry

- Fatigue and Weather Resistance : Specific polyurethane formulation used to reduce low built-up heat under high load and speed. It does not crack under long-term cyclic stress (e.g., the rotation of conveyor belt rollers), and its fatigue life is 3-4 times that of traditional plastics.

- Noise reduction, Non-mark and low rolling resistance

- High load-bearing capacity, cut & tear resistance, good resilience

- Operating temperature range: -40℃ (cold-region oilfields) to 120℃ (long-term, special formulation); no brittleness at low temperatures and no softening at high temperatures

Key Application

- Forklift drive wheels, load wheels ,forklift fork sleeves/pads

- Conveyor Belt Idler roller

Rollers are supporting components of conveyor belts. The PU coating (hardness: 75-85A) can protect metal roller surface, absorbing the impact of falling materials (e.g., coal/ores falling from hoppers onto conveyor belts), reducing conveyor belt vibration, and lowering friction noise between rollers and conveyor belts (noise reduction: 10-15 dB).

- Conveyor Belt

- Guide rail/bar (A component that guides the directional movement of equipment or cargo, commonly used in conveyors and warehouse shelf systems)

- Polyurethane buffer (A component used to absorb collision impact in material transportation, such as the buffer structure between equipment or during cargo transfer)

- Semiconductor material handling, electronics manufacturing, high-speed production lines

- Robotic damper for safty, automated material handling systems

- Urethane Chute/Hopper Liners

When transferring bulk materials (ores, cement, grains), chute inner walls are prone to erosive wear or blockage. PU liners (thickness: 8-15 mm, hardness: 85-90A) have a smooth surface (roughness Ra < 0.8 μm), reducing material retention and blockage. They also resist ore erosive wear, extending chute maintenance cycles from 3 months to 1 year.
